On the 30th November, Warrandyte Neighbourhood House are running workshops to create Christmas gifts and decorations. These homemade Christmas ideas will take the stress out of Christmas shopping, not to mention the expense! Head over to the beautiful suburb of Warrandyte, spend the day learning new crafts and come home with your Christmas presents sorted!
There are two workshops on offer, or sign up for both and receive a discount! The morning workshop, "a Handcrafted Christmas", 10:30am - 1:30pm, offers the chance to create a variety of Christmas themed gifts. - You will be shown how to make bath bombs at home, a perfect gift idea for a friend that needs some pampering, or simply anyone that loves a bath! - Be guided through rolling your own wax candle, suitable as a table centerpiece, addition to a hamper pack, or a small gift for someone special. - Get your hands dirty whilst making clay tree decorations, the perfect new addition to your Christmas tree, it doesn't get better than something handmade! - Finally, your taste buds will be tingling as we end the session with Cumberland butter, otherwise known as Brandy butter. Add this to your Christmas feast and your family will never forget it! After the workshop you will have the knowledge to recreate it at home, no Christmas will be the same without Cumberland butter! For $55, you will be taking home four Christmas themed gifts and decorations, not to mention a wealth of knowledge for the future, this workshop cannot be missed! The afternoon workshop, "Bush Christmas Wreath", 2pm - 4pm. Create a wonderful rustic Christmas wreath using natural material collected from your garden. The method can be adapted to make a festive centerpiece, candleholder, decorations and various sized wreaths. You will learn how to weave vines into a wreath and decorate. Vine weaving is a very pleasant and relaxing activity. Bring this talent home with you and you could be creating beautiful wreaths for every occasion! Whilst a quantity of materials will be available, this workshop focuses on making a wreath out of things from your garden, so you can make a wreath anytime you want to, in the future. A reasonable quantity of vines is needed. If sourcing vines is difficult for you, please call Warrandyte Neighbourhood House and they will be able to help you.
