In a kitchen in Templestowe Lower, a group of volunteers spend a few mornings a week preparing meals to be distributed to families and individuals in need. Started in 2017, the Eat and Greet program at Living and Learning at Ajani is a free meals program run in partnership with Doncare.
Supplies for the meals are either sourced from the organic community garden at the centre, purchased from Foodbank Victoria or donated by a range of local businesses and community members. Recent fundraising efforts mean the program will distribute a festive food pack during December, including seasonal treats to make the holiday season special for all.
Donate fresh food for Eat and Greet!
Eat and Greet is looking for donations of ingredients from local suppliers, stores or home gardeners. With many home gardens flourishing and the holiday season upon us, now is a great time to donate.
Volunteers are also welcome to join the program.
